Observation Club
Early Orthodontic Monitoring for Children

Observation Club

The Observation Club is a program that we designed for children, ages 7 and up, to monitor their smiles as their adult teeth are growing in. The American Association of Orthodontics suggests that people by the age of 7 be seen by an orthodontist, and many of those people aren't ready for braces yet. Our Observation Club provides comprehensive monitoring and care during this crucial developmental period.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When should my child first be seen by an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontics suggests people at age of 7 to get seen by an orthodontist. At this age, X-rays can show what teeth are coming in and how they're developing.

  • Will my child need treatment right away?

Not necessarily. Many children at age 7 aren't ready for braces and will be placed in the Observation Club for monitoring every six to nine months until the optimal treatment time.

  • What happens during Observation Club visits?

Your child gets time with an observation coordinator, can enjoy interactive elements like coloring on our special wall, and earns points by wearing their Observation Club T-shirt, rolling dice and scheduling appointments. It's much more comprehensive than a quick check-up.

  • How long will my child be in the Observation Club?

This varies by individual development, but some children may be monitored for several years. The goal is to start treatment at the optimal time, which helps ensure the best results and timing for completion.

  • What if my child needs two phases of treatment?

After completing a first phase, your child returns to the Observation Club with retainers to maintain their progress. They continue earning points and receive regular monitoring until it's time for their second phase of treatment.
